12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 - Musical Note Ornament

These musical ornaments were unfinished wood pieces I purchased at Hobby Lobby back before Christmas.  I wish I had bought them out then, because they sold out shortly after and I haven't been able to find anymore. :(

I actually made these to put in the craft show I did back in November.  They were kind of hidden on the tree though so nobody really noticed them.

But that is actually ok, because Doodle is going to give them to her adorable music teacher at school! :)

I simply sanded each of them slightly, painted them black, Modge Podged on musical scrapbook paper, antiqued them, and added some little jewels.

Oh, and I drilled small holes for the ribbon...because, of course, I forgot to keep the original ones open and couldn't find them after the scrapbook paper was on and dried! LOL

I absolutely LOVE the ways these turned out!  I would love to have a set for myself, so you can bet next year I'll be at the Hobby Lobby waiting for more of these...and I will buy them all! :)

Until tomorrow....

  9. Those are SO adorable! Now I just need to find some music notes here in Idaho :-) My kids have the best piano teacher and I would have loved getting her these. I made cinnamon elmers glue ornaments for her instead. I should search for music notes cookie cutters too! Although - the scrapbook look is so cute with yours.

  10. Thanks Selina! I got them at Hobby Lobby very early in the season. I've been trying to find more ever since!! I knew when I was standing there I should have bought what they had left...but NO, my cheapness took over and I didn't. LOL Sometimes being cheap gets in the way. :)
