Can you believe I finished an actual craft. For myself. :)
It seems like it's been forever since I've done a craft just for the fun of crafting.
Not for a craft fair. Not for a custom order. Not for a gift. Just for me because I wanted to.
It was nice! :)
I remember seeing a gorgeous "No Soliciting" sign awhile back (I have no idea where I saw it or who to give credit to...I'm sorry!). I just remember REALLY wanting my own sign!
We have LOTS of solicitors come through my neighborhood. I know they are just trying to do a job. But, it makes my dog go crazy. Usually Bubby (one of my cats) shoots out the door. I'm usually in my PJs, hiding behind the door trying to talk to the person about something I'm not even interested in.
I hate it!
So, now they will be greeted with this:
It's just a cheapy plaque from either Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Who knows...it was in my stash. :)
The background is a piece of scrapbook paper, with the pennant already on the paper. Super easy!
(Let's pretend my trim was painted last year
when I had the new door put in.)
And I cut the letters out with my Cricut onto black scrapbook paper. I downloaded an Old Newspaper type font from dafont and used my Sure Cuts Alot 2 software.
I Modge Podged the letters on. But I also sprayed on several coats of Poly since it will be outside (although under a covered porch, so exposure to the elements is limited).
The ribbon came off of my perfume box. Bow already tied and all. :)
Sometimes I feel like such a packrat, but then when I put something together like this with a bunch of stuff I have laying around and then for a minute it seems worth it. :)
I'm totally loving my new "No Soliciting" sign!! :)
This little sign is tasteful and pretty...hope it works for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to ward off solicitors. Very cute...but I also love you wreath, I don't remember a post about it. It is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! Maybe too nice for those pesky sales people to get the hint.
ReplyDeleteAnd do tell us about your wreath. It's big and fluffy and so pretty.
Your front door is so lovely! Nice work on the sign, as well. :) xo G
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love that the paper already had the pennant on it as well. I have a closet and a dresser full of stuff that I save - I think it just goes with being crafty :) Excellent job on the sign!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to say "Go Away!" Haha! Love it and LOVE your red door with the way you have the numbers on it!
ReplyDeleteErin, I LOVE it! That is such a cute framed sign! :) AND I love, love, love your whole front porch! It is so beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great Thursday! :)
Blessings and hugs,
Jenni
Great design. I hope it keeps away those salesmen.
ReplyDeleteI love your sign - and your whole front entrance too :) I know how you feel about being a pack rat but it pays off lots of times! Great job here!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I think every home should have one of these. ;-) Thank you for your *very kind* comment on my "chocolate" coffee table!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! And I'm a packrat too so no judgment here. Hopefully this sign will keep the salepeople away.
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!!

That sign is so cute! I love your front porch too with your pretty red door!

Lovely!! Thankfully our ranch is too secluded to need that. I hope it works. Looking at your nice clean porch, reminds me that I have some cleaning to do!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! What a great idea. I think I might need one of those. I don't get many solicitors but I don't want ANY solicitors. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLoving the paper. :-) Isn't it nice when you actually make a craft *for yourself*?? We crafters are usually *givers*....good for you!!
ReplyDeleteThe sign is so cute...they might steal it. Ha! We don't get many solicitors, but my parents do and my dad hand wrote a note and duct taped it t the sign: "that means you, go away. do not ring the door bell. can't you read!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Your front porch is so lovely!
