Halloween Day 2 - Candy Corn Art

I swear everyday does not involve candy corn.  But like I said yesterday..I'm a whole lot little obsessed this year!

Oh, but here's the super exciting part (YES...I said super exciting again...it's a problem, like me and exclamation points!!!!...I'll work on it)...I got to use my new Cricut!!!  In case you didn't read my story last weekend, go here to read how I got my Cricut.

I just took this picture and frame that normally hang in my living room (which is a water color I purchased on the Island of Capri when I was stationed in Italy - sorry for the bad photo and washed out colors):

And I just took this picture out for the time being (it will go back in there after Halloween) and replaced it with the new one I made using scrapbook paper I had (which I had actually purchased because I liked the reverse side, I didn't pay attention to this woodgrain side when I bought it).  I cut the letters with my Cricut using the George and Basic Cartridge that came with it, and another, larger, candy corn that I made when I made the ones for my candy corn tree.

I was playing with how I wanted the layout when it occured to me they shared the "n"...and that's how I came up with this layout!

I'm also in love with this project!!  And like yesterday's Candy Corn Tree...it was also FREE!!  I mean, yes, the Cricut cost me alot of money, but I don't think I have to add the cost of that into my project do I?  If so, I SOOO overpaid for this candy corn picture! LOL

But I mostly love it because this was made with all things I already had on hand AND it was an original idea!!  I don't get those very often...I'm usually just a good copier.  So, original ideas that actually turn out cute get me all kinds of jazzed up! :)

I hope you liked today's project!!  Don't forget this is a full 7 days series...so come back tomorrow for another project...that was not free or easy and frustrated me to pieces...but turned out too cute for words. ;)

Until tomorrow...

  2. How cute both of these projects are...both day one and day two. There really is something very appealing about candy corn, as you said, it brings back wonderful childhood memories. Now what's for tomorrow? (-:
